Is Artificial Turf Safe for Our Kids and Our Environment?

In response to rising neighbor concerns about artificial turf proposed for playing fields at the Episcopal Center for Children and Lafayette Elementary, I'm hosting the first of two virtual community meetings for my constituents as well as other interested residents in the community.

The program will feature short presentations from representatives of the artificial turf industry as well as leading national experts on the environmental and health issues regarding turf, including Dr. Kyla Bennett of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, Dr. Sarah Evans of Mount Sinai, and Dr. Graham Peasleeof Notre Dame University. Q&A and discussion with the community will follow.

The second community meeting (date and time TBA) will focus on playability, comparing artificial turf and natural grass.
